The BST-10 is the state of the art collating system.

It is a technical innovation that has addressed the collating problem that we have looked at for several years. We looked at several different collators and just stand alone collators. The ones that we did look at were unable to address the coated sheet dilemma. Coated sheet being a lot of powder on the sheet a lot of off setting, a lot of tracking, and so on and so forth. This machine was able to address those type of problems.

Being a commercial printer in the city of Chicago, we have a tremendous amount of different type of work that we do here. One of the problems that we had to address was turn around time. We were unable to turn booklets around as fast as our customers were demanding it. One of the things with printing is that it's becoming more of an on demand type of an industry. We have customers that are demanding booklets with different inserts at different times and need an immediate turn around situation. Bourg was able to address that with the BST10 so that we can put out books faster than we ever have before.

When I first looked at the BST10, the electronic display panel, the lights, the buzzers, and the whistles that Bourg put on this machine and I thought that only a computer programmer would be able to operate a machine as sophisticated as the BST10. As a matter of fact, the machine is very user friendly we are able to install the system put it on our floor and within three to four hours our operators were producing live jobs on our floor and were being trained at the same time while we were in production.
